We pride ourselves on having foals that from day one are responsive, respectful, calm, and very personable. By the time our foals are ready to wean their groundwork is complete, so they are easier to handle and safer for our clients. Before weaning, our foals must go through an extensive check list making sure they can, lead, tie, bath, clip, pick up feet, pivot on hind and forehand, lung, load in the trailer, and do many other simple things that make them ready for sale or the show barn.

Halter: Trainer Allison Holman's passion lays in training and showing halter horses. Spending time training with some of the best in the industry among which are Luis Paniagua and Shawn Crews of Arabians Ltd, Jessie Saldania, Greg Knowles, and Ricardo Rivero. Sunshine Ridge Arabians has shown halter horses to championships in yearling filly, geldings open, mares open, classic head, and color classes. Owner Marianne Downing has also tried her hand at armature halter winning champions in AOTH.

Hunter Pleasure: "I love a beautiful hunter Arabian; there is no better ride in the world" says trainer Allison Holman. Several horses at Sunshine Ridge Arabians have won championships in hunter pleasure, among them are foundation mares Magenta PA and Bey Selah.

Western Pleasure : is a large part of Sunshine Ridge Arabians training program. We pride ourselves on taking the time to put our broodmares under saddle. "It is very important to me that our horses are not just pretty to look at, but that they can perform as well. I work very hard when a new mare comes to the facility to make sure that she is added into the training program and Hopefully onto the show string. When a foal is purchased from Sunshine Ridge Arabians you will know that both parents have proven themselves in the show ring and under saddle." says trainer Allison Holman

Trail Riding: Sunshine Ridge Arabians is Located in the foothills just east of Chico California, a location that lends itself to peaceful trail rides with breathtaking views. "All of our under saddle horses spend a lot of time out of the arena and on the trails. I enjoy working my horses on the trails because it keeps my show horses fresh and in shape and makes them well rounded and hardy" comments Allison Holman

Sport horse: All the junior horses at SRA are trained in sport horse, and many have championships in both open and armature sport horse classes. We have found that by training the yearlings in Sport horse in-hand they are better minded and transition into halter and performance training easier. The sport horse classes are new to the Arabian industry, but it was easy to see that the Arabians have a natural aptitude for it, and many of our clients enjoy competing in sport horse classes with Sunshine Ridge Arabians.

Lessons : Sunshine Ridge Arabians offers a complete lesson program for juniors and amateurs who want to gain more knowledge about Arabian horses and their riding abilities. Allison Holman has been certified as a riding instructor by Hyer Ct. Arabians and Lipicia Stud in Slovenia.

Natural Horsemanship :All the horses at Sunshine Ridge Arabians spend a few days a week playing natural horsemanship games. "I use natural horsemanship to desensitize my horses and I start them the minute they are born. I use anything I can get my hands on; from tarps, logs, bikes, tents, ladders, to doggie squeak toys" says Allison Holman
